Amid the excitement generated on social media, the surprise came with the appearance of Mexican driver Checo Pérez. Despite expectations, the driver was present at F1 75 Live through a video shown on the event screens.
Formula 1 kicked off the event with a clip compiling the best moments of the category in recent years, where Pérez had his highlight. The driver was seen celebrating his first victory in Formula 1 at the 2020 Sakhir Grand Prix with Racing Point, as well as his triumph on the Baku street circuit in 2021 with Red Bull.
After not securing a new seat for the upcoming season, Checo Pérez has decided to take a sabbatical year to travel and enjoy time with his family and friends. Later, his intention is to analyze offers mid-year and decide whether to return to Formula 1 in 2026 or embark on a new adventure in another competition.
